Chase Allen
ML Engineer at Neural Concept. CMU MS AI Engineering, Colorado School of Mines BS Mechanical Engineering, minor in Computer Science. Born and raised in Colorado. Lived in Austin, Pittsburgh, New York, and San Francisco. Visiting everywhere.
Growing up I was a competitive mogul skier. Finished high school early to train full time, came close to World Cups, ultimately landed in engineering after hanging up the boots. A decade of competing taught me how to commit to things that scare you, which turns out to be applicable for everything.
/ What I Work On
Day job is AI for engineering simulation. Physics-informed ML, 3D geometry, making CFD/FEA faster. Nights and weekends I build agent systems, ship side projects, and try to automate as many chores as possible. Still can't vibe code mowing the lawn or folding laundry... yet 😉
Before that I did research at CMU's Safe AI Lab. Co-founded Quaternion Studios. Built AI for RF signal classification at SEAKR. Did ML and SWE internships at Samsung. Started the AI/ML@Mines club. And competitively skied for 10 years of course.
/ Outside of Work
Guitar
Best hobby I've ever picked up. Always improving, never done.
Motorcycles
R3 through Pittsburgh, now riding California roads.
Climbing & Fitness
Read Spark by John Ratey if you need convincing that exercise is the best thing you can do for your brain.
Skiing
Retired from competing but Colorado makes it hard to stop.
